About Me

I moved around quite a bit growing up - all around the Houston/Dallas/East Texas area, then to Florida, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. I came back home to go to college and fulfill the career choice I made when I was nine years old.  I graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Houston and in 2004 with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. About that time, I had a baby and was a stay-at-home mom for about three-and-a-half years. It was awesome to be able to stay home with my baby but I really missed interacting with adults and engaging in my profession. So, in 2009, I went to work in a psychiatric hospital, providing therapy services to a wide variety of patients suffering from a wide variety of maladies - schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, addiction, and other challenges. I felt like it was time to open a private practice in 2012.

So that's the resume stuff. Some of my favorite things are true crime documentaries, buying books I probably won't read, and cooking. We have three cats, at least one of whom really really likes to make an appearance on my video calls because she's nosy and needy. My family has been lobbying pretty hard for a dog, but with a husband, a teenager, the three cats, and a dwarf hamster, I feel like I have enough living things to feed.
